I love Poland, Jesus, and tacos… real tacos.
Originally from California, born and raised, I came to finish my bachelor’s degree in Steubenville, OH at Franciscan University. To make a long story short, I started out studying psychology…but after a lot of discernment decided to change my major to theology. God showed me that this change was okay by blessing me with the peace that surpasses all understanding when it came to that big decision. (Philippians 4:7) In 2017, I studied abroad in Gaming, Austria and it was there that I took a course on Theology of the Body. My heart has been a work in progress since – meaning that God continues to reveal the beauty of his plan for our sexuality in surprising ways.
The semester we came back, on a random and stormy night (okay, it was not stormy, but that adds an essential dramatic effect), my friend spontaneously informed me that Pregnancy Center West was hiring for a chastity educator...and I was surprised that such an awesome role even existed! So, to make another long story short, here I am. Following what God has laid out for me, one surprise after another.
This message that keeps unravelling within my heart and intellect just so happens to be for everyone. The younger people can hear this beautiful message about our bodies, the better. I believe this aspect of education is central to the New Evangelization. What I am sure of is that God is love and we need to receive and share that… and I’m trusting that Jesus will work through me.
Fun facts: I like Poland and John-Paul II. I’m the only girl out of five and second oldest. Scarves are my life.
-> That's me in Kraków, Poland.
“The youth are not the church of tomorrow, they are the church of today.” – JPII
What a blessing it is to be able to minister to the young minds and hearts of today! My name is Nathanael Egan and I am a lifelong west-sider. I love Cincinnati with all my heart, especially Skyline Chili and Greaters Ice-cream! I am the youngest of six and the uncle of seventeen and counting. I have worked in youth ministry for the past seven years and have loved every bit of it. In my spare time I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and action sports. I also love woodworking and playing in my band “Easter Rising.” I truly believe that it was God’s will that brought me to Pregnancy Center West. After living and discerning with the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal in New York for a few months, I returned home to continue my work in youth ministry. I was then encouraged by multiple people to take this position. It is true that God can work through others to get to you! I thank God for this opportunity to let Him work through me to touch the hearts of our youth!
Please keep our youth in your prayers, that they may be receptive to our message of chastity and authentic love. St. John Bosco, patron saint of youth, pray for us!
